Another day at the WSOP, another huge run from a Pokerfarm player. This time it was Alex 'JammyJenny' Martin, long time coach and player for the Pokerfarm. Alex went into day 3 of event 20 $1k NL in the middle of the pack with just 27 players left from an initial 3175. Things only got better on day 3 as Alex won some flips and ended up chip leader on the final table!
Everyone who knows Alex will testify what a great bloke he is, so everyone at Pokerfarm HQ was rooting for him. This would have been an incredible story and there are few people in poker more deserving than Alex; his work ethic is second to none and determination to succeed in poker is unbridled.
Alex got off to a good start at the final with QQ>K4 but then hit a few bumps in the road along the way. His 77 was cruelly counterfeited on the river to lose a chunk, and then AQ couldn't hold v 67 all in preflop. The slide continued until Alex 4bet shoved AJ into the QQ of eventual winner Jason Somerville and couldn't get there on a teasing 89T board!
This was good for 5th place and $114k. While it will hurt that he didn't go on to ship the bracelet, Alex will surely wake up tomorrow pleased with what he achieved. Another amazing run from a Pokerfarm player and we're sure Alex will be in this position again soon. WP sir!
In other news, the Brits are flying high in the $5k shootout. Already down to 40 players, Pokerfarm players Toby Lewis and James Akenhead are through to the money and within a sniff of the big bucks. James Dempsey and JP Kelly are also through, and we have another Pokerfarm player in great form who is right in the mix, Mr Darren Kramer. It promises to be an exciting day tomorrow. GL boys!
