Sam Leads the Way In Epic Poker League
Aug. 11, 2011, Posted by Pokerfarm
Poker Farm's very own Sam Trickett is coming back for day 3 of the inaugural Epic Poker League Main event as the big chip leader. However the Brit who's total cashes of 2011 are now over $3m has a very tough final two tables to out-maneuver if he wants to take home the first place price of $1,000,000.
The Brit who by his own standards had a pretty disappointing WSOP will be delighted to get back to winning ways after having a fantastic first 6 months to 2011. Trickett will be extremely confident of his chances due to a lot of recent final table experience. Sam made final tables in both the EPT & WPT before winning the PartyPoker World Open. He then followed this up in Australia as he came 1st and 2nd in the two biggest high roller events of the year at the Aussie Millions.
Where Australia had some soft spots in the form of billionaire businessmen and online satellite qualifiers, tomorrow will be a completely different kettle of fish as he will be met by some of the world's best tournament players who rival his 2011 success such as Jason Mercier, Matt Glantz, Erik Seidel (beat Sam HU in Australia) and Eugene Katchalov.
Just 5 away from the bubble a great spot came up for Sam which propelled him into the chip lead.
Frank Kassela held A10 on a 10 J A 9 2 board. However, Sam Trickett flopped broadway with KQ and was able to take the rest of Kassela's chips on the hand.
On a bubble of a $20k event even high rollers you may expect some nerves, but speaking on Facebook at the end of the day Sam didn't seem fazed by the big prize jumps.
"The bubble just burst; back to day 3 as the chip leader with 1,032,000......bubble was great!"
