Cody flies the flag for PokerFarm

PokerFarm's Jake Cody is through to the final 8 of the prestigious $25k HU championship. Jake who seemingly wins every tournament will be looking to add a bracelet to his resume and complete what so few other players have achieved - a triple crown.
The 21 year old from Rochdale is gauranteed $138,852 for his work so far after overcoming opponents Brandon Adams, Frank Kassela, Dani Stern and Jonathan Jaffe.
With seemingly everybody in poker following him on facebook Jake commented at the start of the tournament "The WSOP starts here... Event Two - $25k headsup!" It would indeed be a fantastic start to the series for the guy that everybody is tipping for a bracelet but first he has to overcome Anthony Guetti (a French guy with one hendon mob cash)in the quarter finals.
Also in with a shot of the first "proper" bracelet of the series is Gus Hansen and Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko.
Here is the full draw for the last 8.
Anthony Guetti vs. Jake Cody
Gus Hansen vs. Matt Marafioti
Eric Froehlich vs. Nikolay Endakov
Yevgeniy Timoshenko vs. David Paredes
And this is what they're playing for...
1st - $851,1922
2nd - $525,9803
3rd - $283,9664
4th - $83,966
5th-8th $138,852
38,852
James Bord doing well in Event #3
Elsewhere in the Rio, Event #3: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Low Split 8 or Better has been completed. 210 runners remain from the inital 925 and currently in the top 10 chips are Jimmy Fricke, Barry Greenstein and Humberto Brenes. Also making some noise is PokerFarm's very own James Bord who has an above average stack and will be looking to add to his bracelet that he won in London.
90 players get paid and although first place will pocket $262,283 I'm sure the bracelet will be on the minds of all the remaining players.
Todays events
There are two official events today. Event #4: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em will have a strong attendence from our boys and who knows, Jake may already have chalked up a bracelet by the time he late regs for this! Later in the day is Event #5: $1,500 Seven Card Stud, which may be a chance for some of our mixed game specialists to bink a bracelet whilst all the NL sharks are battling over at the 5k.
Whatever the result, today looks to be a fascinating day and we will keep you up to date with all developments regarding the WSOP.
