Bright Light City - The Pokerfarm does WSOP 2011
May 23, 2011, Posted by Pokerfarm
Well the WSOP is nearly upon us. Palms are getting sweaty and players are preparing for a gruelling seven weeks of non-stop poker. We’re getting pretty excited here at The Pokerfarm and have been debating who our picks are for this year's series. UK poker is a real force to reckon with right now and several Brits have had phenomenal years. We’ve had four EPT champions in this season alone meaning the UK now trails only the US as the most successful nation in EPT history.
Brits have been dominating the felt online and offline with the likes of Paul Foltyn, Chris Moorman and Charlie Coombes all having an excellent SCOOP series. As I write this, Toby '810ofclubs' Lewis currently sits as chip leader in the SCOOP main event and Pokerfarm's Luke 'Fullflush' Schwartz is handily placed in the high roller 6 max event with 16 players left. Such is the plethora of British talent right now that we are primed to have our most successful WSOP ever this summer.
Jake Cody & Toby Lewis - Don't let the boyband look deceive you
The Pokerfarm is going to have a huge presence at the 2011 WSOP with some of the cream of UK talent representing the team. The likes of James Akenhead, James Bord, Luke Schwartz, Toby Lewis, Matt Perrins and Jake Cody will all be flying the flag for team Pokerfarm and we’ll be bringing you in depth profiles, reports and features straight from Sin City. We’ll be following all of the action and taking you right into the belly of the beast that is the World Series of Poker.
We have a top notch team of reporters this summer including the ‘voice of poker’ himself, Jesse May. Jesse has been at the forefront of the poker media for many years now, commentating on some of poker’s most prestigious events and interviewing some of the game’s biggest names on a weekly basis. Jesse’s experience is unrivalled - His encyclopaedic knowledge of the poker world is second to none and we’re thrilled to have him on the team for what promises to be a momentous summer of poker.
Jesse May - Our man in Vegas
Pokerfarm’s resident madman Rury Mason will be our man on the streets in Vegas, providing an irreverent insight into the lives of poker players in Vegas and revealing what really goes on behind the scenes. Rury has been warming up for the WSOP out in Dublin and at EPT Madrid - For a glimpse of what you can expect from him, check out his videos here.
Rury Mason - Poker's version of Jeremy Beadle
Also joining The Pokerfarm’s reporting crew will be Jean Robert Bellande. JRB is one of poker’s real characters, plying his trade in some of the biggest games in town and mixing with some of poker’s true high rollers. Bobby will be reporting from the Aria as well as the Bellagio, catching up with the stars and bringing you the all of the action and gossip from the high stakes tables. You won’t find high stakes action like this anywhere else.
Bobby Bellande - Rubbing shoulders with the big boys
The Pokerfarm’s first podcast series will be airing from Vegas. The shows will be covering a wide range of topics from within the weird and wonderful world of poker. We’ll have interviews, competitions, features and much more. We encourage you to get involved with the show - have a look at the forums and there will be info on the shows plus details of competitions in the Pokerfarm Radio thread.
All in all it’s going to be a manic, exciting and hopefully successful WSOP for everyone involved with the Pokerfarm. We’ve been having a few cheeky punts already after leading betting exchange Matchbook recently unveiled its prices for several WSOP markets. You can see the full markets and prices here. Can Sam Trickett continue his incredible year with a bracelet win? Will Jake Cody become only the third player to complete the triple crown? How much will Ivey wager in prop bets? Your guess is as good as mine, but one thing’s for sure. The Pokerfarm will be bringing you all of the action as you’ve never seen it before. Sit tight and stay tuned, because Vegas is calling.
