Day 1 - Swings and Roundabouts
March 5, 2011
So i decided to waste no time at all and get cracking at exactly midnight. I played a 2000 hand session where not a lot happened and ended up $80 down and went to bed. I had a very strange dream about being on a roundabout and then stumbling around, very dizzy, trying to avoid a giant lawnmower. Not sure what that means.
At 10am i started grinding and had played 2.5k hands and won $740 before the Chelsea Man United game began. What a game it was too. I have to say looking at the line-ups its unbelievable that they are top of the league and we’re 5th. I still believe that, man for man, we have the most talented team in the league. But i guess everyone hits downswings.
We ran really good to win. Terry handball probably should have been a penalty and the penalty they conceded was suspect to say the least. David Luiz, as well as being awesome, was pretty lucky not to get red-carded after about 8 bookable offences. But we were due some rungood. With Spurs losing and City drawing, those 3 points are massive in our fight for 4th place which is about the best we can hope for this year.
As a side note i have never seen so many lookalikes on one football pitch :
david luiz sideshow bob
Chris Smalling Marley from Waterloo road
Javier Hernandez Sinead O Connor
After the football it was back to the grind again where things went pretty well. After another 3000 hand session i was a further $230 up putting me at $880 up for the day with 7500 hands played at dinner. I decided to aim for 9k hands and play a 1500 hand session after dinner. Things did not go to plan. I ran like arse and at one point was $780 down for the session, leaving me just $100 up for the day. I managed to keep my calm though and grinded almost all of the losses back finishing the day at +$785 having played a total of 10,028 hands. Needless to say that is by far the most hands i’ve ever played in a day. In fact in previous months it would be a pretty good week for me.
Below is the graph of the day
One fun hand that helped me win some of the losses back :
