2011/12 Premierleague + Fantasy Premierleague + gamboooolaments

I'm super-excited about the upcoming premier league. It's been a long summer with no football to watch and no fantasy football or football bets to sweat at weekends. I think the prem is gonna be really close this year. Liverpool and City have both strengthened signficantly over the summer, whilst spurs have kept all their key players. I still think it will be between Chelsea and United come May. Everyone seeems to be making united massive favourites to retain their title. I think Chelsea have a great shout. Last year we had the best team man-for-man in the league. We absolutely dominated the first couple of months of last season then imploded when Ray Wilkins was sacked. It was a huge unprecedented downswing which saw us drop to bottom of the form table and we still ended up pushing united to the end of the year. Early signs are good with us conceding not a single goal in pre-season. I think villas-boas will do a great job and see us regain the title. But we'll see.

In terms of outright bets I had to back chelsea at 3-1 but also put a little on liverpool at 10-1.

I'm also massively excited for fantasy football. I love sweating every prem game every week and the midweek Claudio Ranieri-esque tinkering. I've also got a number of bets on it that will hopefully see me cashing in nicely in May. Everyone thinks I'm a mark at fantasy because last year i didnt pay much attention to it, left my team unchanged for weeks at a time, then ended up making desperate hero plays late on to try to close the gap. One example being taking out Rooney for Torres. Ronney bagged twice, torres played 30 minutes and did nothing. Anyway, this year things will be different. With this much cash on it and more free time than last year, I plan to invest a couple of hours a week picking my team. My starting xi is below. I've put a lot of time into picking it as opposed to the rushed friday night efforts of seasons past. Below is a list of my bets :

Chelsea to win the league - £500 at 3-1

Liverpool to win the league - $240 at 10-1

fantasy football bets :

Head to head vs Ben Wiser - £1000

Head to head vs Adam Reynolds- $1000

Head to head vs Chris Hughes - £250

Head to head vs Mark Rudderham - £300

Pokerfarm league - $100

So if United or city win the league and I do badly in fantasy, I stand to lose around about $5000. But if Chelsea win the league and I crush the fantasy I win about $7000. One time .......
