That’s life…

That's what all the people say.
You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May...
And these Frank Sinatra lyrics perfectly describe Viktor Blom's approach to poker and probably life in general. The talented Swede was on his usual rollercoaster ride last week and stirred up some hot discussion throughout the poker community. He was called every name possible from genius to degenerate, but Viktor like many others knows that every kind of promotion is good promotion. Being featured in articles on a daily basis is a privilege and respect of the community is something you cannot simply buy and he's enjoying every minute of it.
As we've reported just three days ago, Isildur's hot streak reached a tipping point of almost $500,000 until Friday. However, Blom failed to capitalize on this as he went on a crazy $700,000 swing in just three sessions. He up around $550,000 on Saturday morning and was able to drive those winnings straight to the ground with an additional $200,000 lost in the process. The incredible fact is that all of this happened in just three sessions.
After dropping a few stacks in ring games, Blom played a couple of heads up sessions against Phil 'MrSweets28' Galfond and ended up on the losing side. One of the best poker players on the planet took Blom for a spin and made most of his gigantic $500,000 upswing on Isildur's account. Galfond's sessions continue to stay in the green ever since he joined the Pokerstars high stakes bandwagon as his total earning reached around $800,000 this August. Another familiar name on the top winners list is Ilari Sahamies who's hot run increased his balance by a cool half million.
Right behind the Finnish pro are names like 'verve.oasis' ($310,000) and '1-ronny3' ($218,000) with 'Deldar182' and 'Skjervoy' hovering around the $200,000 mark. The biggest losers' list leader is Ben 'Sauce123' Sulsky who is down more than $500,000. He's closely followed by former Warcraft 3 pro 'mTw-Davin' who's more than $400,000 in the red. 'Moirhums', 'LuckyGump' and 'f2fish' are suffering downswings in the $300,000 region.
August high stakes action is getting more rampant by the day and there are no signs of it stopping anytime soon. With Isildur determined to chase his loses, it's only a matter of time when we will again witness his unbelievable swings. Phil Galfond is sure to steadily increase his lead on August's leaderboard and there are many who want mess with his plans further down the road. 'Ziigmund', 'Skjervoy' and Viktor Blom are all respectable candidates for the place at high stakes throne.
