FTOPS XX comes to a close

After the recent dramatic events for poker in the US, Full Tilt Poker was forced to halve the guarantees on their FTOPS XX series which concluded this weekend. There was a decent turn out for the main event, a $640 multi-entry buy-in with $2.5m guaranteed. While the prizepool was a shadow of its former self, there was still fairly hefty money up top for the winners. Players agreed to a chop 4 handed, with Benny ‘Towelfish’ Spindler taking the lion’s share with $366,792.99. The eventual winner after the chop and gold jersey winner was Ariel ‘ArielBahia’ Celestino, who took home $346,696.49. Pokerstars hosts its SCOOP series next week – It will be interesting to see what kind of numbers Stars can generate for the series, and will be a good indication of how the ‘big 2’ have reacted to US online poker legislation.
