Well known poker professional Tony G was on his way home from Cannes today when he heard that Matchbook.com were offering odds of 5-1 on him cashing in the main event at this years WSOPE.
Matchbook, a revolutionary sports betting exchange designed for the professional and savvy sports bettors were offering markets to back or lay a selection of players to cash in this years WSOPE main event, including Tom Dwan, Sam Trickett, James Bord, Phill Hellmuth, Jake Cody and Jason Mercier.
Much interest was seen on Tom Dwan who was backed heavily to not cash at odds of 1/5. Dwan did in fact bust early on the first day.
However, the bet placed by Tony G is believed to be the largest placed so far on this market and could significantly alter his strategy in the main event.
When asked if he would fold pocket aces on the bubble Tony G replied, 'anything is possible, its all about the percentages.'
G went on to say, 'you only have to look at my record, I cash in over 40% of events I play. I don't just enjoy playing the tournaments, I enjoy destroying people who don't believe in just how much heart I have.' He warned savvy punters; 'Whoever layed this bet is going to be sent home on their bikes!'
